Gruver Cooley had the privilege of working closely with a wonderful family who approached us with a clear vision—to create a home that would not only be a sanctuary for their family but also a welcoming haven for friends and loved ones. The clients emphasized their desire to have the house everyone wanted to gather at, inspiring us to bring their dream to life.



The clients’ dream was to have a spacious and inviting home where their extended family and friends could come together to create lasting memories. Instead of opting for a downsized space, they sought to build a residence that exuded warmth, elegance, and practicality.

Challenges:

  • Creating a welcoming atmosphere that would encourage social gatherings and make guests feel at home.
  • Incorporating numerous functional and customized features to meet the family's unique needs.
  • Collaborating with the clients from the early architectural phase to ensure the project's success.
  • Assisting the client in selecting an Architect.

Design and Collaboration

Gruver Cooley and our design team were thrilled to be involved from the beginning of the architectural phase. This early engagement allowed us to understand the clients' vision intimately and guide them through the design and construction process effectively.

Key Elements of the Design:

  • Custom Fireplace Mantel: As a central focal point, the custom-designed fireplace mantel, equipped with plentiful storage, added both aesthetic, functional and sentimental value to the home's main living space.
  • Practical Spaces: Understanding the family's lifestyle needs, we incorporated two laundry rooms for convenience and efficiency.
  • Entertainment Oasis: The basement was transformed into an ultimate entertainment oasis featuring five TVs, a pool and game table, and a custom bar equipped with a kegerator to host enjoyable gatherings.
  • Pool and Outdoor Amenities: The exterior was thoughtfully designed to include an infinity pool with a spa, an outdoor pavilion, and a pool bathroom with shower to cater to outdoor festivities.
  • Specialty Kitchen: The heart of the home—a custom kitchen with specialty drawers and organizers—was designed to accommodate the family's culinary endeavors and social cooking experiences.
  • Artistic Feature Walls: To enhance the ambiance and add personality, feature walls were incorporated in various rooms, reflecting the family's tastes and interests.
  • Car Barn: For the family's automobile enthusiast, a car barn was constructed, ensuring their beloved vehicles were securely housed in style and giving the client a place to work on their vehicles.
